[Retrieved earlier notes from small brown notebook] What do we mean by reproduction after all? At least in sexual reproduction it does not imply exact, identical copies of the original. It is precisely the variation of / the aberration from the original that made sexual reproduction so successful and less vulnerable to infection, more dynamic ... (The Red Queen hypothesis; Darwin's warning against monocultures.) So, maybe we should mean by reproducible science, not exact replicability, but rather the possibility of varying experiments and receiving similar results, predictable from the original?)
